The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has allowed Belarusian national teams to participate in world championships during the 2026/2027 season. The decision concerns the men’s under-18 junior national team, the women’s junior national team and the women’s senior national team, the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation reported.
The men’s junior national team will take part in the world championship in the United States in April-May 2027.
Federation chairman Aliaksandr Bahdanovich described the decision as “an important and positive step for Belarusian hockey” and expressed the intention to do “everything possible to return all Belarusian national teams to the international arena as quickly as possible.”
