The BELPOL initiative has received a response from the German Federal Ministry of Justice regarding information about former head of the operational and security unit of Penal Colony No. 2 in Babruisk Dzmitry Shynvize.

Earlier, Nasha Niva published a report about him. Shynvize became known for his brutal treatment of prisoners, including political detainees. It later emerged that he had left his service and emigrated to Germany.

“In its letter, the German Federal Ministry of Justice stated that the materials from the appeal had been forwarded to the Federal Criminal Police Office. The agency is currently conducting a review and investigating Shynvize’s possible involvement in crimes against humanity. BELPOL has submitted all documents available to the organization, as well as contact details of victims of Dzmitry Shynvize’s actions”, BELPOL said.
