The Belarusian Tennis Federation has a new chairman. Siarhei Rutenka has been replaced in the position by Alyaksandr Zakharchanka.

On 10 March, the reporting and election conference of the Belarusian Tennis Federation was held at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus. Rutenka presented a report on the work carried out, the National Olympic Committee said.

During the conference, Alyaksandr Zakharchanka was elected the new chairman of the federation.

Zakharchanka previously worked at the BATE football club together with Anatol Kapski and served as deputy director general of OAO MAZ — the управляющая company of the BELAVTOMAZ holding — as commercial director.

“In the near future I will try to gain a deeper understanding of the federation’s work. I see that the main directions are the development of tennis in the regions. The sport has strengthened its material base well, but there is a demand for improving the qualifications of coaching staff. Increasing the competitiveness of members of the national team and the reserve squad are also immediate tasks that I see ahead,” Zakharchanka said.
