Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said he will travel to Moscow on May 9 but will not attend the parade, Slovak outlet SME writes.
“I will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Red Army to thank, on behalf of Slovak women and men, for liberation, and I have a brief meeting scheduled with President Putin. That is all. I will not attend any military parade. The format will be the same as before,” Fico said on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan.
Speaking at the EPC summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy referred to drones over Red Square. “Russia has announced a May 9 parade in Moscow without military equipment. And if this happens, it will be the first time in many years that they cannot afford military equipment and are afraid that drones may fly over Red Square. This is indicative,” he said.
Zelenskyy and Fico held talks on the sidelines of the summit. According to the Ukrainian president, the sides discussed cooperation and agreed to exchange visits.
