Emergency Ministry Summarises Impact of Severe Weather on May 28

Strong winds continued to bring down trees across Belarus on Thursday. According to the Emergency Ministry, wind gusts reached 21 metres per second. A total of 51 cases of fallen trees were recorded in the Brest, Vitsyebsk, Homiel, Hrodna and Mahiliou regions, as well as in Minsk.

Fallen trees damaged the roof of a house in the Haradok District and two vehicles in Minsk.

No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, May 27, the Emergency Ministry recorded more than 200 incidents involving fallen trees. Wind gusts reached speeds of up to 26 metres per second that day.
