The Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to reintroduce import duties on certain types of clothing from Vietnam, including knitwear.

The EAEU and Vietnam have a free trade agreement. However, it provides for duties to be temporarily restored if imports of certain goods exceed the agreed threshold. Duties on selected categories of clothing from Vietnam will remain in effect for six months.

In 2025, imports of certain types of clothing from Vietnam exceeded the threshold after which duties may be reinstated.
