Deputy Prosecutor General Stuk Retires

Belarusian Deputy Prosecutor General Aliaksei Stuk has retired. A ceremonial farewell event was held today at the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The ceremony was attended by Prosecutor General Dzmitry Hora and his deputies, Chairman of the Supreme Court Andrei Shved, Chairman of the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers Valery Mitskevich, as well as regional prosecutors and the prosecutor of Minsk.

“I am grateful to all my colleagues, including those from other state institutions, for ensuring through our cooperation the interests of national security, helping restore the lawful rights of citizens and, in general, protecting the interests of our country. I am grateful to all the prosecutors general with whom I worked for their experience, guidance and support. I am confident that the prosecution service will continue to occupy a достойное место in the system of state bodies and effectively carry out the tasks assigned to it,” Stuk said.

Stuk had worked in the prosecution service since 1980, beginning as a trainee prosecutor in Minsk’s Partizanski District Prosecutor’s Office. He had served as deputy prosecutor general since 2008.

It is worth noting that the decree on Stuk’s retirement has not been officially published.
