The State Customs Committee has published guidance on travelling abroad with bicycles.
According to the guidance, bicycles do not need to be declared when being taken out of Belarus. However, issues may arise when bringing them back into the country. For this reason, travellers are advised to use the red channel when leaving Belarus.
“At the same time, if you plan to bring the bicycles back into Belarus and do not have documents confirming that they were manufactured or purchased in Belarus, we recommend using the red channel when departing and completing passenger customs declarations (in two copies) for the exported goods.
When bringing the bicycles back, you may use either the green or the red channel by presenting to the customs officer the declarations completed when leaving the country, along with the bicycles themselves.
The customs officer will identify the goods and subsequently decide on their release without the payment of import customs duties and taxes,” the State Customs Committee said.
