The Mahiliou interdistrict department of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against a 56-year-old director of a leisure and entertainment organisation where an 18-year-old trainee was killed. The case concerns Part 2 of Article 428 of the Criminal Code (official negligence resulting in death by negligence).
The tragedy occurred on May 1 at an amusement ride in Mahiliou. The young man was undergoing training for the position of ride operator. While helping a visitor safely exit the carousel, he failed to secure the operating mechanism. At that moment, he was struck by a moving part of the ride. He sustained a severe head injury and died. The main version of events is a violation of safety regulations.
