Council of Ministers Removes More Than 875 Hectares From Radiation-Hazard Zones

Belarus’s Council of Ministers has removed land plots with a total area of just over 875 hectares from radiation-hazard zones under Resolution No. 665 of 22 November. The resolution entered into force on the day of its adoption.

The plots are located in the Vietka, Zhlobin and Chachersk districts. The resolution instructs authorities to establish the boundaries of the plots within a month and transfer them for further use. The Agriculture and Food Ministry has been tasked with overseeing conditions for the use of the land. It must also ensure monitoring of radioactive contamination in products produced on these plots.

According to the resolution, the users of the land plots are KSUP Tsiaplichnaye, OAO Babawski, Zhlobin Agrotekhservis, Mormal, Vazniasensk, Zviazda, SUP Stepy and RUP Homielablhaz.
