A comprehensive robotization program is being developed in Belarus, Economy Minister Yury Chebatar said. The goals for robotizing production facilities were set out in the social and economic development program through 2030.

According to Chebatar, relevant targets for the introduction of robots have been incorporated into sectoral and regional programs for the five-year period. By March 1, ministries and executive committees are required to prepare action plans for the deployment of robots.

In addition, work is underway on a Comprehensive Program, within which the following tasks need to be addressed:

in the scientific and innovation sphere — to formulate objectives for scientific and technical programs and state research programs in robotics;

in standardization and certification — to develop standards in the field of robotics manufacturing and to simplify certification and conformity declaration procedures for imported robotic equipment;

in human resources — to create a continuous education pipeline (school, college/university, production).

Another area is the development of domestic manufacturing.

“Today, we are developing competencies for the production of precision gearboxes, servo drives, microelectronics, and other components necessary for creating a domestic robot. Practice has shown that ‘hardware’ accounts for 20–30% of the cost of a robotic system. The main components are software and knowledge of how to integrate the robot into the technological process — that is, engineering.

And these competencies exist in Belarus. We propose to continue developing them on the basis of the High-Tech Park. In the future, it may be possible to consistently develop domestic production of components,” Yury Chebatar explained.
