Two 18-year-old men were killed in a traffic accident in the Homiel region, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.
The tragedy occurred at around 02:30 today in the agro-town of Niehliubka in the Vetka district. An 18-year-old unlicensed driver behind the wheel of an Opel lost control, drove onto the roadside and crashed into a tree. The impact tore the vehicle apart.
As a result, the driver and his 18-year-old passenger were killed. Neither had been wearing a seatbelt. According to the ministry, the young men had consumed alcohol the day before.
Traffic police officers and an investigation team are working at the scene.
