Customs officers seized 2.3 kg of mephedrone at the Brest checkpoint on the Belarusian-Polish border. The drugs were being transported into Belarus by the driver of a passenger bus, the State Customs Committee said.

Belarusian customs officers inspected a package containing five metal cans that the driver was carrying. A scan showed unusual contents inside the cans. When the cans were opened, packages containing mephedrone were found inside.

Customs officers identified the intended recipient of the drugs.

A criminal case has been opened against the suspect and other individuals under Part 2 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code, which covers the illegal transportation of narcotics across the border.
