Bellegprom is actively working to improve the situation at Belwest, which is currently operating at a loss. The Svitanak enterprise in Zhodzina is also facing difficulties. This was stated by Nadzeya Lazarevich, head of the Bellegprom concern, during a briefing at the National Press Centre.

“We are currently focused on restoring order through restructuring, addressing staffing issues, and improving the economic performance of enterprises. Among the most problematic companies we are dealing with at the moment is Belwest. Everyone is aware of the situation. We are now actively working, so to speak, to put this enterprise in order. Unfortunately, it is currently operating at a loss. However, we are looking for solutions that will allow it to return to positive performance. Another enterprise facing a rather difficult situation is Svitanak in Zhodzina. A separate action plan has also been developed there, and we are exploring ways to achieve break-even operations,” she said.

According to her, there are also positive examples. In particular, the Baranavichy Cotton Production Association and the 8 March factory have shown positive results following support measures. At the same time, a significant number of troubled enterprises remain in the sector.

Lazarevich said the concern has a clear understanding of its future direction and the measures needed to make enterprises more resilient.

According to her, Bellegprom’s exports increased by 50% in the first quarter. Its products are supplied to more than 60 countries. The main export categories include flax products, leather goods, hosiery and corsetry products.

“Russia is clearly the main driver of exports. Ninety-one per cent of our exports go to Russia,” she said.

The development of the Da Domu retail chain in Russia is continuing. A store has been opened in St. Petersburg, and the concern is currently selecting a site in Kazan.
