BelGee continued to increase vehicle sales in Russia, according to the latest data from the Autostat agency.
Sales of vehicles under the Belarusian brand rose by 42.7% year-on-year in May to 5,156 units. Over the first five months of the year, BelGee sales increased by 72.4% to 23,700 units.
The brand’s share of the Russian car market stood at 4.69% in May and 4.82% over the January–May period.
Russia’s passenger car market grew by 20.5% year-on-year in May to 109,900 units. Over the first five months of the year, sales increased by 11.8% to 492,300 vehicles.
Lada remained the leader of the Russian market in January–May with 124,050 vehicles sold, down 5.5% from the same period last year. It was followed by HAVAL (nearly 68,000 units, up 24.2%), TENET (51,360 units; the brand was not on sale last year), and Geely (29,350 units, down 0.2%). BelGee ranked fifth in the Russian market.
