Belavia flight B2718 has departed from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Minsk. There are 189 passengers on board.
This is a repatriation flight that will bring to Minsk passengers holding tickets dated February 28, Belavia reported.
The Boeing 737-800 is operating along a safe route, avoiding potentially dangerous areas. The aircraft will land in Aktau (Kazakhstan) for refueling and then continue to Minsk. Arrival in Minsk is expected after 2 a.m. Minsk time.
Repatriation flights are also scheduled for March 4 and 5 using wide-body Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The planes will depart from Minsk without passengers.
According to the National Tourism Agency, more than 2,500 Belarusian tourists are currently in the United Arab Emirates.
