Polish border guards at the Terespol checkpoint seized a truck trailer with an altered VIN number, valued at around 120,000 zlotys, according to the press service of the Nadbużański Border Guard Unit.
At the Kukuryki border crossing on Poland’s eastern exit, officers from the Terespol post of the Nadbużański unit detained a 35-year-old citizen of Belarus who was attempting to leave for Belarus in a Mercedes truck with a Schmitz trailer (manufactured in 2016).
During the inspection, border guards discovered interference with the vehicle’s identification number.
A preliminary investigation has been launched. The driver and the vehicle were handed over to the police in Terespol, who will continue further proceedings in the case. The value of the seized vehicle is estimated at 120,000 zlotys.
