Belarusian Railway has warned of train delays due to adverse weather conditions.

“On certain sections — Minsk–Orsha, Minsk–Homyel, Minsk–Brest, and Zhlobin–Kalinkavichy — trains are currently operating with deviations from the scheduled timetable,” the statement said.

The railway operator stressed that prompt measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the severe weather and return train services to schedule.

A red level of weather danger is in effect in Belarus. The country has been hit by a cyclone accompanied by heavy snowfall, blizzard conditions and strong winds. Over the past 24 hours, power supply has already been disrupted in 251 localities due to the weather. In the morning, public transport in the Belarusian capital was operating with disruptions. The “Weather” emergency plan had been introduced across most of the country as early as the previous day.
