The press service of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has taken a thorough approach to covering his visit to Belarus and has been promptly publishing detailed information about each stage of the trip. Footage from the visit suggests that businessman Aliaksandr Zingman was directly involved in the visit, as he was waiting for Mahama at the airport.

The president of Ghana arrived on a business jet, making it impossible to deploy the traditional ceremonial staircase. The absence of a staircase led to an awkward situation when a Belarusian official unexpectedly attempted to climb aboard the aircraft, apparently intending to greet the foreign guest inside. The Belarusian was stopped by the Ghanaian president’s security detail.

It was not possible to hear what the welcoming party was saying, as the audio had been removed. However, the press service replaced it with a light, upbeat melody, causing much of the pomp associated with the ceremonial reception, complete with a red carpet and honour guard, to dissipate.

Upon disembarking, the Ghanaian president was greeted by protocol staff carrying a traditional loaf of bread and salt and Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankevich, who oversees industry and the energy sector. The guest was then introduced to Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou, Aliaksandr Zingman (a close associate of Viktar Sheiman), Kommunarka Director Siarhei Aniukhouski, and others.
