Belarus’ Health Ministry has announced the operating schedule for healthcare facilities during the public holidays.
According to the head of the Emergency Medical Protection Department, Dzmitry Lyakh, hospitals, outpatient clinics, sanitary and epidemiological services, and pharmacies will operate on a public holiday schedule on July 3 and on a Saturday schedule on July 4.
“During the holidays, outpatient healthcare facilities, emergency departments, trauma centres, intensive care units and resuscitation departments will operate with increased staffing, ensuring that the most qualified specialists are on duty,” he said.
The ambulance service will be placed on a heightened state of readiness. On July 3, around 250 ambulance crews and about 100 reserve crews will be deployed nationwide. In Minsk, 34 ambulance crews will be on duty.
The Health Ministry also reminded the public to observe safety measures during hot weather.
“There are factors that can lead to heatstroke. The following recommendations should be observed: wear loose-fitting clothing, maintain adequate hydration and, in hot weather, try to minimise exposure to direct sunlight,” the specialists said.
