In Belarus, organizations hired 6,572 more people than they laid off in November. At the same time, the balance for the first 11 months of the year remains in favor of dismissals, according to new data from Belstat. The report does not include data on micro- and small enterprises without departmental subordination.
In November, 55,700 people were hired and 49,100 were laid off. As a result, the number of hires exceeded dismissals by 6,572.
Over the first 11 months, the balance was in favor of dismissals. A total of 705,100 people were hired, while nearly 719,000 were laid off. Dismissals exceeded hirings by 13,800.
In November, the number of hirings increased by 11.7% compared with the same period last year, while over the first 11 months it rose by 15.9%.
In November, the number of dismissals increased by 12.9% year on year, and by 12.1% over the first 11 months.
In November, a negative balance was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fishing (minus 308), as well as in transport and logistics (minus 1,359).
A positive hiring balance in November was recorded in industry (plus 1,569), trade (plus 1,756), education (plus 1,430), construction (plus 805), healthcare (plus 386), and information and communications (plus 372).
Over the January–November period, dismissals exceeded hirings in agriculture, forestry and fishing (minus 5,201), healthcare (minus 256), manufacturing (minus 8,964), trade (minus 871), transport and logistics (minus 5,966), public administration (minus 234), and education (minus 3,243).
A positive balance in favor of hirings over the first 11 months was recorded in information and communications (plus 1,657), construction (plus 4,349), and accommodation and food services (plus 1,148).
