Polish border guards discovered smuggled Belarusian cigarettes at the border with Lithuania, the Tax Administration Office in Białystok reported.
A truck driven by a 36-year-old Polish national was stopped for inspection in Budzisko. It turned out that boxes of cigarettes had been hidden among the declared cargo — rolls of film.
A total of 38,000 packs of cigarettes were seized. Their value is estimated at nearly 650,000 zlotys (around 177,000 US dollars). The driver has been detained.
