The Administrative Board of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has confirmed that junior athletes holding Belarusian and Russian passports will be able to participate in international youth competitions under the organization’s auspices.
The decision is linked to a ruling by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) adopted in December 2025, according to which junior athletes should not be restricted from participating in international youth competitions. The decision came into force on January 1, 2026.
“The CEV Administrative Board confirmed that this decision, which entered into force on January 1, 2026, applies to youth tournaments of the European Volleyball Confederation. Thus, the youth national teams of the Republic of Belarus will once again have the opportunity to compete on the international stage,” the Belarusian Volleyball Federation said.
Practical aspects of the participation of Belarusian teams will be further developed and submitted for consideration by the CEV Administrative Board.
