Belarus Starts Purchasing Apples From Dagestan

Belarus has started purchasing apples from Dagestan, according to a regional Russian media outlet.

The outlet reports that the Dagestani agricultural holding Polosa LLC has delivered its first batch to the Brest Interdistrict Trade Base.

It should be noted that this year Belarus saw a reduced apple harvest due to frost, although officials assured that sufficient volumes of fruit would be placed in stabilization reserves.

Belarus also purchased apples from Poland during the off-season this year. In the previous decade, the Russian side repeatedly accused Belarus of facilitating the re-export of Polish fruit after Moscow imposed an embargo on agricultural products from EU countries.
