The Belarusian Automobile Association has released the results of the domestic automotive market for May. A total of 8,100 new vehicles were sold during the month, an increase of 21.5% compared with April.
Compared with April, sales of vehicles with internal combustion engines increased by 2%, while hybrid vehicle sales rose by 50% and electric vehicle sales by 47%. A total of 3,500 electric vehicles were sold during the month, the highest monthly figure on record.
More than half of all vehicles sold in May were Belgee and Geely models, with combined sales reaching 4,250 units.
In the electric vehicle segment, Dongfeng was the market leader, with 1,400 vehicles sold.
Deliveries of Haval vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines also resumed in May.
