Belarus–Russia trade turnover increased by 1.8% to USD 44 billion, Dmitry Krutoi, chief of staff to Alyaksandr Lukashenka, said during a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers.
“We are pleased to note the sustained high pace and volume of mutual trade under continued sanctions pressure on our countries. Over the first 10 months of this year, according to Belarusian statistics, trade in goods amounted to USD 44 billion, with a growth rate of 101.8%. The figures for services are even higher. Trade in services grew by 17%, reaching USD 6.5 billion,” he said, as reported by BelTA.
Belstat recently published foreign-trade data for goods. Based on Krutoi’s statement, Russia accounts for 61.1% of Belarus’ total foreign trade in goods and about 93% of its trade with CIS countries.
Krutoi also outlined the results of implementing Union State programmes for 2024–26.
“As of early December, more than one-third of the planned measures have been completed — 115 out of 310, or almost 40%. The economy ministries of both countries have begun work on the main guidelines for the next three-year period,” he said.
According to him, the Union State programme for 2027–29 will prioritise industrial policy, technological sovereignty, food security, transport, energy and tourism.
