Belarus has launched an automated system for recording violations at intersections. According to the Interior Ministry, this concerns offences related to driving through a red light and failing to follow designated lane directions.
The system uses the National Public Security Monitoring System for enforcement.
“The number of locations monitoring red-light violations will gradually increase,” the ministry said.
After a violation is detected, a notice of administrative liability is sent to the vehicle owner. They may also receive an SMS notification, which does not include the fine amount or bank details.
