The Belarus Ministry of Defence has published a short video which it says shows the “ritual of assuming combat duty” by the Oreshnik mobile ground-based missile system.
“The missile system has assumed combat duty on time. The personnel are well-coordinated, the crews are prepared, and combat duty is organised and conducted in accordance with guiding documents. We are mastering new patrol areas, conducting reconnaissance of new areas. Planned training is carried out there in accordance with assigned tasks. On a daily and weekly cycle, training in combat training, tactical training and tactical-special training is conducted. The personnel have already proven their professionalism in practice during planned training activities,” an unnamed deputy commander of a military unit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation says in the video.
According to the report, before assuming combat duty, specialists from launch, communications, security and power supply crews, as well as driver-mechanics, underwent retraining using modern training and simulation equipment.
“After bringing the system to readiness for its intended use and checking it by a joint integrated group, the Oreshnik missile battalion began carrying out combat duty tasks in designated areas on the territory of our country.
The system is capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 5,000 km, can be equipped with either a conventional or a special warhead, and can conduct launches from any point along the combat patrol route,” the Defence Ministry’s press service said.
