Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yauhen Shastakou paid a working visit to Venezuela on May 27–28.
Shastakou met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto. The parties discussed issues of political cooperation and exchanged views on key aspects of the international and regional agenda.
During the fourth round of inter-ministerial consultations with Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Alexandre Pimentel Moura, the interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, including the improvement of the legal framework, as well as cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, Belarus’ Foreign Ministry reported.
The parties reaffirmed the continuity of the main areas of cooperation and discussed the timing of the next meeting of the Belarusian-Venezuelan Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
At a meeting with Venezuela’s Sectoral Vice President for Planning and Minister of Planning Ricardo José Menéndez Prieto, Shastakou discussed a number of issues of strategic importance for cooperation between the two countries, as well as promising areas of interaction in the industrial sector.
The Venezuelan side confirmed its readiness to implement all previously reached agreements and expressed its firm intention to deepen business cooperation and develop trade and economic relations with Belarus.
