Politician Alyaksandr Milinkevich, who was earlier reported to have been admitted to intensive care after surgery, has been placed in a medically induced sleep. The update was provided by his wife, Inna Kuliej.
“Friends, I sincerely thank you for your support, kind words and prayers. I want to share the latest information about Alyaksandr’s condition.
He is in the intensive care unit and has been placed into a pharmacological sleep. This is important to allow the body to regain strength without wasting energy on movement. His condition is stable. Neurologists will decide on the next steps.
It is very comforting that visiting hours are allowed for close relatives. So it is possible to see him, touch him, speak to him. I told Alyaksandr about the many friends who support him and are waiting for his recovery.”, she wrote on Facebook.
Inna Kuliej also reported that on 28 November at 18:00, a prayer service for Alyaksandr Milinkevich’s health will be held at the Holy Cross Basilica on Krakowskie Przedmieście in Warsaw.
Alyaksandr Milinkevich was the united opposition candidate in the 2006 presidential election. In 2023, he became an external adviser to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
