A video has been published on Instagram by singer and taxi driver Aliaksei Khliastou, whose detention was reported today, in which he talks about several preventive conversations that took place with him recently. He said he had been summoned to the traffic police, the transport inspectorate and had spoken with officers from GUBOPiK.
“So, hello everyone, dear friends. If I am recording this video, it means I am not at home and not at work. Most likely, I am at a so-called preventive conversation, which is now happening for the third time. The first time I was summoned to the traffic police over an alleged offence, namely a traffic violation: using my phone while driving. And there I was, let’s say, invited by representatives of GUBOPiK to Revolutsionnaya Street, 3. While I was there, there was a very unclear conversation, completely unclear. And, frankly speaking, I could not respond to anything.
Then, on Friday I left and continued working as a taxi driver. On Monday morning, I got a call asking me to come to the city police department. I also went there — I was invited, and I came voluntarily. Today I was invited to Partizanski Avenue, number six. This is transport police or transport, I don’t know, transport service.
They asked me to come, but I assume it will be the same story. That is, I will go there, and then I will either be detained or invited for another conversation. For my part, I want to say that I have never committed any unlawful acts, have not done anything illegal, and therefore I ask you to share this video so that the authorities that can actually protect me as a citizen of the Republic of Belarus pay attention.
