Agricultural Production in Belarus Grew by 2.6% in First Quarter

Agricultural production in Belarus increased by 2.6% in January-March across all categories of farms to 5.55 billion Belarusian roubles. In agricultural organisations, production rose by 2.9% to 5.48 billion Belarusian roubles.

Agricultural organisations increased meat production by 4.2% to 456,700 tonnes in live weight. Milk production rose by 2.3% to 2.23 million tonnes, while egg production fell by 1% to 863.9 million.

As of April 1, agricultural organisations had 3.9 million head of cattle, including 1.4 million cows. The pig population stood at 2 million head.
