The international federation World Boxing has lifted restrictions on Belarusian athletes.

“The World Boxing Executive Board has decided that the Individual Neutral Athlete policy will no longer apply to Belarus and that its athletes, coaches, support personnel and officials from the country may now participate in World Boxing competitions on the same basis as members of other national federations,” the organization said in a press release.

The decision takes effect immediately.

The decision was adopted in light of the International Olympic Committee’s recommendations to remove restrictions on Belarusian athletes.

Restrictions on Russian athletes remain in place.
