A vehicle belonging to the honorary consulate of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina was stopped at the Šćepan Polje border crossing between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A pistol and ammunition were found inside, Montenegro’s Interior Ministry reported.
On the night of March 26–27, Montenegrin border police were conducting operations to combat cross-border crime when they stopped an “operationally interesting person” — a 44-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, B.Ž., residing in Sarajevo. He was driving an Audi A8 registered to the Belarusian honorary consulate in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During a search of the trunk and a travel bag, officers found a Glock 45 FS pistol with a magazine and 17 rounds of ammunition.
The state prosecutor in Nikšić was informed of the incident. The driver was detained, and the weapon and ammunition were seized.
According to information from the Belarusian embassy in Hungary, the honorary consul of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Nedeljko Elek. He visited Belarus in 2024 together with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
