A resident of Pinsk has been sentenced to three years in a medium-security penal colony for particularly serious hooliganism. He punched 17- and 18-year-old men in the face and then stabbed the younger man in the back with a knife, the Brest Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports.
On the afternoon of April 21, the 37-year-old defendant, who had been drinking, was near one of the houses on Zaslonova Street. He saw a group of young people and decided that they had “looked at him badly.” The man punched the 17- and 18-year-old men in the face and, when he saw them leaving, took out a knife and stabbed the 17-year-old victim in the back. The teenager suffered minor bodily injuries.
At trial, the man said he had been drunk and had not been in control of his actions. He fully admitted his guilt.
The court sentenced the Pinsk resident to three years in a medium-security penal colony. The sentence has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.
