One of the relay transmitters used to control Russian drones was recently activated in Belarus, but Ukraine believes this will not happen again, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said in an interview with TSN on June 30.
“They [the relay transmitters — Reform.news] have not yet been dismantled. One relay transmitter was activated yesterday. I don’t think they will activate them again,” Syrskyi said.
“Will they be physically unable to do so?” the interviewer asked.
“Well, I can’t tell you everything,” Syrskyi said with a laugh. “I think they realise that they shouldn’t do it, let’s put it that way.”
Syrskyi said Ukraine has everything it needs not to fear actions originating from Belarusian territory and to prevent Russian drones from operating along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
It should be recalled that on June 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave Aliaksandr Lukashenka one week to switch off the relay transmitters used by Russian drones, warning that otherwise Ukraine would destroy them itself. Last week, Zelenskyy said the relay transmitters had been switched off on June 22.
