Russia today carried out a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine. Overnight, Russian forces used drones. In the morning, they launched missiles. The missiles moved from the Sumy and Chernihiv regions toward the central and western regions of Ukraine.
Ukrainian media reported explosions in Kyiv and Odesa. Shahed drones were also detected in the west of the country, including in the Lviv region.
Ukraine’s energy sector was targeted, the Ministry of Energy said. Emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv, the Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions.
Poland today scrambled fighter jets and raised air defense readiness. Such measures are taken each time there is a threat of Russian missile and drone attacks on western regions of Ukraine.

According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, one person was killed in the Kyiv region and three others were injured, including a child. Private houses were damaged in two districts.
In Odesa, energy, port and transport infrastructure was attacked. Fires broke out, a vessel and a warehouse were damaged, and windows and roofs of 122 private houses were damaged in one district. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities or injuries.
One person was also killed in the Khmelnytskyi region.
In the Zhytomyr region, six people were injured, including two children. One child and one adult were hospitalized. Residential buildings, private civilian enterprises and a shop were damaged in the region.
In Kyiv, four people were injured, including a teenager.
