During the massive attacks on May 13 and 14, Russia used 1,567 drones and 56 missiles against Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today.

“Overall, during the waves of massive attacks on May 13 and 14, the Russians used 1,567 drones and 56 missiles of various types. Our drone interception rate reached 94%. The missile interception rate was 73%. The key challenge is ballistic missiles and the protection of thousands of rear infrastructure facilities and our cities,” he stated.

Zelenskyy pointed out that the Russian strike continued almost uninterrupted for nearly two days.

“This is a special terrorist tactic by the Russians, who accumulated drones and missiles over a certain period and deliberately calculated the strike in such a way that its scale would be significant and the strain on our air defence systems would be maximal,” Zelenskyy noted.

Cities across Ukraine came under attack. In Kyiv, a missile strike destroyed the entrance section of a residential building from the first to the ninth floor. Twenty people are still considered missing, and at least five people were killed.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had used Belarusian territory for its drones flying toward Ukraine.
