Meteorologists have issued an orange-level weather alert in Belarus due to strong winds. During the daytime today, strengthening of the westerly wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s is expected across most of the country. Tomorrow, strengthening of the north-westerly wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s is forecast in many areas, with gusts reaching up to 24 m/s in places in the west.

On December 28, weather conditions in Belarus will be shaped by atmospheric fronts from a cyclone moving from Russia’s Novgorod Region along the eastern borders of Belarus. Predominantly cloudy weather is expected. Precipitation will occur across most of the country, mainly in the form of snow and wet snow.

In some areas, drifting snow is forecast. At night and in the morning, heavy snow, wet snow accumulation and light icing are expected locally in the east, with icy conditions on some road sections.

Air temperatures throughout the day will range from minus 3 degrees Celsius to plus 3 degrees. Atmospheric pressure will remain largely unchanged overnight, then increase in the morning and during the day.
