The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has published the program for the “New Belarus” conference, which will take place in Warsaw on August 8–9. Belarusians from various countries are expected to attend the event. The conference will focus on the main challenges, opportunities, and next steps for the democratic forces.
The program includes debates, project presentations, personnel appointments, an awards ceremony, and six thematic panel discussions.
Participants will discuss the “window of opportunity” for the democratic forces, Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation and prospects after the end of the war in Ukraine, political transition in Belarus and the country’s future after political change, countering transnational repression, education and the preservation of national identity, as well as support for Belarusians both inside the country and abroad.
The organizers note that the conference program may be updated and expanded.
