The coming night will be extremely cold in Belarus. Meteorologists have issued an orange danger level for the eastern part of the country.
“During the night of 15 January (Thursday), the minimum air temperature in the eastern half of the country will be −25…−30°C,” the warning says.
Tomorrow, weather conditions in Belarus will be shaped mainly by a high-pressure area formed in a cold air mass, while the western part of the country will be influenced by a frontal system moving in from Western Europe. It will be mostly dry, with snow expected at times overnight in the west, locally heavy snow, and light snow in some areas of the southwest during the day. Patchy light fog is expected overnight and in the morning. Ice slicks will form in some road sections. The wind will be south-easterly, light to moderate. Minimum night-time temperatures will be −17…−24°C, and −10…−16°C in the west, locally. Daytime maximum temperatures will be −12…−18°C, and −7…−11°C in the west.
In the following two days, the weather pattern will not change significantly. Severe night-time frost is expected to continue.
