A 69-year-old resident of the Chausy District died after accidentally ingesting antifreeze. The State Forensic Examination Committee reported the incident.
The accident occurred while he was repairing a car. The man accidentally took several swallows of antifreeze. The incident happened in the evening. He did not seek medical assistance, but the next morning he felt unwell, experiencing abdominal pain, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting. He was taken to a hospital in Mahilyow. Despite medical assistance, he could not be saved. On the fifth day, he died while in a coma.
“Based on the results of the examinations, the state forensic medical expert concluded that death occurred from acute renal failure resulting from acute oral poisoning with ethylene glycol,” the State Forensic Examination Committee said.
