First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Siarhey Lukashevich held meetings with the ambassadors of Somalia, Egypt and Bangladesh.
On April 8, he received copies of credentials from Somalia’s ambassador to Russia and Belarus, Mohamed Abukar Zubeyr. The sides noted the need to intensify political dialogue, build a legal framework and develop trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation.
On April 9, Lukashevich received copies of credentials from Egyptian Ambassador Hamdy Shaaban. The two sides discussed bilateral political and trade-economic cooperation, including preparations for the eighth meeting of the Belarus-Egypt Joint Trade Commission.
On the same day, Bangladesh Ambassador Muhammad Nazrul Islam presented copies of his credentials. The sides confirmed the “significant potential for trade and industrial cooperation and noted the similarity of the two countries’ approaches” on the international stage, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry press service said.
