On May 12, Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed the directive “On the Practical Implementation of the All-Weather and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China.”
The document is an updated version of the previous directive “On the Development of Bilateral Relations Between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China.” It expands on its provisions and establishes the next stage — the development of максимально practical plans and objectives for strengthening Belarusian-Chinese cooperation over the next five years.
“The vector of bilateral cooperation is defined as strengthening cooperation in the political sphere, preserving historical memory and promoting the values of friendship and mutual support, as well as participation in the implementation of China’s global initiatives for the benefit of Belarus,” Lukashenka’s press service said.
The priorities of economic cooperation include deeper industrial and technological cooperation, as well as the development of trade, investment, and innovation.
The directive’s provisions envisage the implementation of specific measures in agriculture, energy, transport and logistics, healthcare, information and communication technologies, woodworking, petrochemicals and light industry, tourism, education, science and culture, the development of the flagship Great Stone Industrial Park project, and the intensification of interregional cooperation.
