Lukashenka Grants Belarusian Citizenship to 230 Foreigners

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has signed a decree granting Belarusian citizenship to 230 foreign citizens and stateless persons, including 13 minors.

The new citizens of Belarus are natives of 19 countries, including Russia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Syria, Latvia, Turkey and others. Most of them arrived from Ukraine.

All of them have lived in the country for at least five years, speak one of the state languages and work in various sectors of the economy, including industry, agriculture, construction, trade and education.

At the same time, Lukashenka rejected citizenship applications from several people who had violated Belarusian law, according to his press service.
