On Tuesday, during a visit by Alyaksandr Lukashenka to Horizont, a milking robot was demonstrated. A photograph with a corresponding caption was published by Lukashenka’s press service.
The image shows a manipulator resembling an industrial robot, which appears to be designed to attach milking cups to a cow’s udder. Other equipment of the milking installation is not visible in the frame. It should be noted that in well-known milking robot models from foreign manufacturers, different types of manipulators are generally used to attach milking cups.
In recent months, Lukashenka has repeatedly spoken about the need to create robotic milking equipment. In particular, he criticised the Academy of Sciences, saying scientists were unable to produce such a robot.
“I called in the vice prime minister and told him: die if you must, but make a robot on your farm. He told me that tests of the second version are now under way, and that by next year it will be done. Where were you?” he said.
Lukashenka also spoke about a milking robot during the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.
According to Tuesday’s statement, a mock-up of an automated milking installation based on a robotic manipulator with elements of artificial intelligence, developed by JSC H Holding, was presented. It was noted that “the product is not yet ready for mass production, but the process is under way.”
“If you make it, we will spare nothing for you. Because this is important for us. This is our future if we want to continue ensuring our own food security. If you guys do this, you will do a great deed. We need a result,” Lukashenka said in response.
