Graduates Who Did Not Complete Assigned Work Terms in Mahiliou Region Face Claims Exceeding 250,000 Rubles

In the first quarter of 2026, prosecutors in Mahiliou Region filed claims against 20 graduates for failing to complete their assigned work terms. The total amount of the claims exceeds 250,000 rubles.

Graduates who studied at state expense either failed to report to their assigned jobs or started work but were dismissed for absenteeism or other actions. In such cases, they are required to reimburse the cost of their education. As a rule, graduates refuse to repay the funds voluntarily, the Mahiliou Region prosecutor’s office said.

The prosecutor’s office cited one case. A resident of Klimavichy studied for three years at Klimavichy State Agrarian College. He was assigned to work at an agricultural enterprise but never started the job. The cost of his education at the college was estimated at more than 18,000 rubles. Following a prosecutor’s claim, the amount was recovered through the courts in the interests of the college.
