Former military officer from Brest Aliaksandr Rudchik was tried on charges of participation in terrorist activity (Article 290-3 and Part 2 of Article 290-4 of the Criminal Code), creation of a criminal organization (Part 2 of Article 285), and participation in an armed conflict on the territory of a foreign state (Part 1 of Article 361-3). Rudchik’s exact sentence is unknown. He is currently being held in a penal colony, Nasha Niva reports.
Aliaksandr Rudchik, 62, was born in Skovorodino in Russia’s Amur region. In 1985, he graduated from the Military Financial and Economic Institute of the Russian Defense Ministry and later served as a lieutenant in Tynda.
According to BelPol, Rudchik lived in Belarus for many years. Since 2003, he worked as an auditor as an individual entrepreneur and closed his business in 2019.
Since 2022, Aliaksandr had been living outside Belarus. In the spring of 2025, he posted photographs from Poland.
It is unknown when and why he returned to Belarus. Rudchik’s case was heard by the Brest Regional Court. Under the cited charges, he faced up to 20 years in prison.
