The Information Ministry has updated the “Republican List of Extremist Materials”. Among other additions, it included the 2012 film “Żywie Biełaruś!” (Viva Belarus!) directed by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz. The decision was made by the Homiel District Court on April 14, 2026.
The film’s main character is 23-year-old rock musician Miron, who opposes the regime of Alyaksandr Lukashenka through his music and activism.
The updated list also includes:
- Instagram pages: Jaen, belhelcom_org, cyberbeaver_help, aleksandra_dojnicz, thekrama.store, center_for_civil_liberties (Center for Civil Liberties), belarusianyounggreens (Belarusian Young Greens), roznyjarounyja (Different-Equal), young.people.plus (Young People +);
- the Facebook page of the Belarusian Investigative Center;
- the TikTok page Raman Hladkikh;
- the Telegram channel Studfreedom | Belarus.
Belarusian authorities regularly use accusations of extremism to fight political opponents and dissent more broadly.
