In the Minsk region, a driver hit a traffic police officer while he was on duty, the Interior Ministry press service reports. The incident occurred today at around 1:15 p.m. on the 10th kilometre of the R-58 road near the village of Yakubavichy.
According to preliminary data, a 74-year-old Opel driver struck the officer, who was standing near a police vehicle with its emergency lights activated.
The injured officer was hospitalised. Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou personally travelled to the scene. The circumstances of the incident are being established.
